My name is Melashu Tilahun (Mela), Founder and Managing Director of Ethiopia Best Tours. I am a highly experienced and fully licensed tour operator, certified by the Ethiopian Ministry of Tourism. Our company combines deep local expertise with international standards of service, ensuring every journey is seamless, enriching, and truly memorable.
Born and raised in the heart of the Simien Mountains National Park, I developed a lifelong passion for nature, culture, and hospitality. With academic qualifications in Plant Science, Tour Guiding, and a Bachelor Degree in Disaster Risk Management and Sustainable Development, as well as an international diploma in Tourism Management from Salzburg, Austria, I bring both expertise and a global perspective to the tourism industry.
Since 2012, I have been actively working as a professional guide and tour organiser, leading travellers through Ethiopia’s most remarkable destinations. I have a strong connection to the land and its people, which allows guests to experience Ethiopia in a genuine and meaningful way. At Ethiopia Best Tours, we specialise in customised travel experiences, including cultural, historical, trekking, wildlife, and adventure tours. Our mission is to go beyond sightseeing we aim to create journeys that connect our guests with the true essence of Ethiopia, its people, traditions, and landscapes.
